When the owners of this classic home, located in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood, wanted an easier way to access the three levels of the house, they opted to have an elevator installed. Designed by Seattle architect Gene Morris, AIA, and constructed by Bella Construction, this solution, while elegant, was not without its construction challenges. The site was not accessible to a crane, so the Bella Team, using an extremely large forklift (and a very skilled operator) performed all the materials delivery and work required on the upper levels of the house for the shaft construction and exterior modifications. Aesthetically, the finished project will blend very well with the existing exterior of the house, and will ultimately provide the owners with the ease and convenience they wanted in their home of many years. Definitely what we’d call an uplifting project!
